About Hooked Market & Kitchen
Hooked Market & Kitchen
Hooked Market & Kitchen is a restaurant in Latham, New York. It is listed at 1177 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Latham, NY 12110, which places it among the local businesses of Latham that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Latham is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Latham follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I stopped at Hooked to grab something to cook for dinner tonight. I got a pound of their U8 scallops and two dozen oysters. The oysters were absolutely delicious and the scallops were even better. They were worth every penny and some of the best weβve ever had. Definitely the freshest of both. More importantly though (if you can believe it) was the service. A mistake was made (we all make βem) and I called and explained. Their response was exactly as you would hope. They didnβt minimize my level of disappointment, they genuinely seemed to understand. They made it right immediately and it is for that reason I will come back again and again and canβt wait for the next delicious dinner. Next time I think Iβll let them be the ones to cook for me! Bottom line is that Iβve never been disappointed by Hooked and todayβs experience sealed the deal. Best seafood around. A must try.

The staff and service is Excellent. Big S/O to Carl at the oyster bar. Great prep on the oysters, super nice and he's a Sage Gators fan. The servers were right on top of everything. The food was excellent. I agree with adding a 3rd fish taco. Knowing how big the fish fry is a third taco could be added at no extra cost. It does get noisy in there. I recommend the Poly-Zorb ceiling tile system it will reduce the noise acoustics by 80%. Other than that it's one of the best seafood places around.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend. The staff were all very friendly. The fish is very, very fresh. Had never had Rhode Island Clam Chowder before. I like it, a lot. The clam flavor is forefront. The French Onion Soup is a served a little differently, with the toasted bread and cheese only in the middle, but I liked it. It let The soup cool down enough to eat it without burning your tongue. The grilled fish sandwich was good too. I ordered it without the aoli, and asked for cocktail sauce on the side.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hooked, I ordered the fish and chips, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The batter was light and crispy, and the fish was flaky and moist. I also tried the Asian shrimp and fish burger, which was equally delicious. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the Asian sauce added a nice kick. For an appetizer, I ordered the swordfish skewer, which was grilled to perfection. The swordfish was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying dipping sauce was delicious. I also ordered a dozen raw oysters from the bar, which were fresh and tasty. The drinks were also reasonably priced, and the service was friendly and attentive. The place wasn't that busy when I went, so the wait was very short. Parking is available outside, and the location was very clean. Overall, I had a great experience at Hooked and would definitely recommend it to others. Rating: 8/10
